Youth Offending Officer - Unqualified (7 Posts)

Current Salary: £19,621 - £22,958 (pro rata for part time).
From 1 April 2010: £19,621 - £22,958 (pro rata for part time).

Location: St Peters Close S1 2EJ / Alison Crescent S2 1AS / Longley Lane S5 7JS

Hours: 37 per week (6 posts), 22 per week (1 post)

The successful candidates will be experienced in working with challenging and vulnerable young people and families. You must be accustomed to working with a variety of service providers, display a sound understanding of multi-agency working and possess a good overall knowledge of the issues surrounding offending, anti-social behaviour and young people.

The successful candidates will carry out assessments of the factors leading to offending or anti-social behaviour and devise plans to address it. You will oversee cases and co-ordinate the input of other professionals with specialist skills. As an Officer within the Youth Offending Service the successful candidate may be based in locality in S1, S2 or S5.

A professional qualification in Social Work, Probation, Education, Police or Health is required, or a Youth and Community Diploma or a Foundation Degree in Youth Justice.
